Holbein’s Duo Aqua Oil is the premier professional line of water soluble oil colors. It provides the artist with the ability to create traditional oil paintings and mixed media works, all without the use of hazardous solvents. It is a true artists’ grade product, with high pigment load, exceptional light-fastness, and a smooth, buttery texture. On their own, the paints perform almost identically to traditional oils, but they can also be mixed and used with oils, acrylic paints and mediums, watercolors, and gouache.

Duo Aqua Oil Color is water soluble, but the oil is identical to that used in Holbein’s Professional Oil Colors. There is no water added to the product, only a surfactant that completely evaporates in the drying process, leaving no residue. No other ingredients are added.
